Hats off to Daniel Island resident Richard Porter for volunteering to help lead a clean-up effort at the Lesesne Family Cemetery adjacent to the LTP Tennis Center. Richard worked with Dan Lesesne, a representative of the Lesesne family, and the Daniel Island Property Owners Association to come up with a plan to enhance the sacred site. Not only did the project result in clearing around the gravesites, but also a new tabby post fence to help protect the area and set the cemetery apart from the walking path nearby. Mr. Porter is also hoping to make some improvements to tombstones that are in need of repair. Great job, Mr. Porter and all involved!
