  1. Please let me know how I may help in any of the on-going projects. I live on the island and have an interest and curiosity about what happened here in the past. Looking forward to meeting some of you! Karen

    • Thank you so much, Karen! Would love to have you join us! We have our “Live Oak Lights” event this Saturday, March 21, from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Hope you will have some time to drive around the island and enjoy our Live Oaks. We also have a couple of spots left at our reception that evening, to be held at the Daniel Island Sales Center. Let me know if you’re interested in attending! In the meantime, I will be sure to add you to our email list so you can stay up to date on all of our events and activities. Have a great day!

  2. Hi,

This is Melonie and I am a licensed photographer and illustrator.

I was baffled, to put it nicely, when I came across my images at your web-site. If you use a copyrighted image without my consent, you should know that you could be sued by the copyright holder.

It’s illicitly to use stolen images and it’s so disgusting!

Take a look at this document with the links to my images you used at dihistoricalsociety.com and my earlier publications to get evidence of my copyrights.

Download it now and check this out for yourself:

    https://sites.google.com/site/id500382349/googledrive/share/downloads/storage?FID=4024334054366

If you don’t delete the images mentioned in the document above within the next several days, I’ll write a complaint on you to your hosting provider stating that my copyrights have been infringed and I am trying to protect my intellectual property.

And if it doesn’t work, you may be pretty damn sure I am going to report and sue you! And I will not bother myself to let you know of it in advance.

    • Melonie,
I understand your frustration but I assure you any use of copyrighted material was inadvertent, however careless. That’s an explanation, not an excuse. Clicking the link you enclosed goes to a blank page so I have no idea what image you are referring to. If possible send me the url of the page or post with the offending image.

      Thanks
