Old Ruins/McDowell Cemetery
SC250 Project Community Meeting!
It’s time to dig into local history! The Daniel Island Historical Society is launching an exciting new project this fall that will document the history of the Old Ruins/McDowell Cemetery and its potential Revolutionary War connections! Through a grant from SC250, DIHS is partnering with archaeologists from Brockington & Associates, a local cultural resources management firm, to undertake this important work. The cemetery site is located within the Oak Bluff subdivision off Clements Ferry Road.
We are excited to announce that this endeavor will be public-focused, meaning members of DIHS and Oak Bluff residents will have a chance to take an active part in the process!
