Few things embody the past, present and future of the Lowcountry like the question of controlling flooding. Join us Tuesday at 7pm as we take an in depth (pun intended) look at the problem and the proposed solutions. CLICK HERE for more information. And at 5pm the next day we’ll have the official dedication of a new artifacts display case at the Rec Center in Governor’s Park. This project has been a work in progress for quite a while and will showcase artifacts across Daniel Island’s history. CLICK HERE for more information. The deadline has past for online signup for our English Tea to celebrate Island namesake Robert Daniell’s 377th birthday, but organizer Beth Bush says she can probably accommodate a few more for this event next Saturday. Email Beth at elizbush@icloud.com to see if she can squeeze you in.. Beyond tea, cake and treats, we’ll have a fun photo booth, storytelling about Gov. Daniell from local author Peg Eastman, music by Captain Daniell’s Pipers, a nautical activity for the kids, prizes and more. All ages welcome. This event will cost $10 for DIHS members, $15 for non-members, or $50 for a family of five of more. WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AT ONE OR MORE OF THESE EVENTS! |
