If you liked our May program where the Charleston Public Library’s resident historian Nic Butler outlined “Ten Things Everyone Should Know About Lowcountry History”, then you’ll love the latest installment of his ongoing project Charleston Time Machine.  This entry deals with the early history of local ferry service…a critical element in the development of the Charleston area.  As Butler says “Have you recently experienced some frustration with your daily Lowcountry commute? Do you find yourself wishing for an alternative to the gridlock that is crippling our local highways? If so, then I’ve got a story for you.”   And as the old radio cliche goes….here’s the rest of the story.   CLICK HERE FOR THE CHARLESTON TIME MACHINE
