Not sure what to give Mom? How about a piece of living history? Yep, you can adopt one of Daniel Island’s Live Oaks in Mom’s name. Or in Dad’s for those of you planning ahead. Hey, you can honor both your parents, together or separately, with our tree adoption program.

First step is to check out “Honoring Our Living History: Live Oak Campaign”. You’ll find background on the program, a neighborhood by neighborhood inventory of trees available for adoption and an online form to get you started.

The Live Oak project is currently being nurtured by DIHS Board member Mark Haebig who can walk you through the process and answer any questions.

You can reach Mark at dihistoricalsociety@gmail.com

Our most recent adoption was by Patric and Valerie Ruppel who named their tree after the family grandfathers….’Pops’. To check out their story, CLICK HERE
