One of the continuing battles on the Cainhoy peninsula is to protect the area’s legacy.  And one of the folks leading the fight is Grant Mishoe, a Genealogist and Historical Researcher with the Gullah Society.

Grant will join us, via ZOOM, for our next DIHS meeting, Tuesday May 18 at 7 pm.  Zoom Coordinates TBA.

One of the very current issues Grant is involved with include the fate of black burial sites just outside the boundaries of the Old Ruins Cemetery.
