Marking Adopted Live Oaks

Folks who adopt one of Daniel Island’s magnificent live oaks get an official certificate but, until now, there’s been no “on the ground” recognition. That’s in the process of changing this week as Beth Bush and Adoption Program coordinator Mark Haebig are marking adopted live oaks with signs like these in Smythe Park. They have a LOT more markers to put up, but, hey, it’s barely reaching 100 degrees most afternoons!

Mark and Beth want to extend thanks to the Daniel Island Community Fund for the generous grant that allowed DIHS to create these markers. Want to learn more about our adopt a tree program…including catalogues of available trees and how to claim one? CLICK HERE
