In case you missed it…in today’s DI News, DIHS Community Outreach Director Lee Ann Bain gets more recognition for her efforts to share the story of Charleston’s Grimke Brothers. CLICK HERE

PROVIDED – A licensed city of Charleston tour guide, Cainhoy peninsula resident Lee Ann Bain has been conducting historical walking tours about Charleston natives Angelina and Sarah Grimké, the first female abolitionists, for nearly seven years. Now she is working to add a historical marker downtown about the sisters’ nephews, who played key roles in advancing civil rights for African Americans in the 19th and 20th centuries.
