Have you thought about joining Daniel Island Historical Society?
Now is a great time to do so! Not only will your membership help out with programs for the community such as our historical markers or for the schools such as the Historical Trunks and the Philip Simmons Ironworks but as a member you will be able to attend our “members only” event on January 21st at 10:30 am to the Old Santee Canal Park and Berkeley County Museum and Heritage Center. We will explore both museums, the grounds and have the opportunity to go into the Stoney Landing Plantation and the Old School House- which are not normally open to the public. Plus the Daniel Island Historical Society is covering the admission fee!
If that is not enough to entice you, all new members will receive a choice of a tote, t-shirt, oak bracelet or a poster with their new membership.
If you would like to join DIHS and take part in this event, please let us know. The cost of membership is $20 per person or $35 per couple. Email Lee Ann Bain at clunybain@gmail.com and she can get you signed up. This is a first come, first served program and we will close the registration when we reach our 80 members. Thanks so much for your support of DIHS!
