It’s that time again….time for our members to step up and help guarantee the future of the Daniel Island Historical Society.
As we’ve previously shared, Bill Thielfoldt has tendered his resignation as president. VP Chris Frisby has agreed to step up into the presidency…a move the board will formally approve at an upcoming board meeting.
Which means we need someone to take on the vice presidency…the main responsibility of which is scheduling speakers for our monthly programs beginning in September. The good news is that whomever takes on the role will have the benefit of all the contacts and experience of Chris, Beth Bush, Lee Ann Bain, Mike Dahlman and others on the board.
Please consider taking on this role.
Also…there will be discussion of Bill Payer resigning as secretary but continuing his current duties for social media, the website and outreach to outside news media. What this would mean is that the new secretary would primarily be responsible for board meeting minutes and submitting our annual 501.3C (non profit organization) filing with the South Carolina Secretary of State’s office. That’s a pretty straightforward process and is done entirely online.
Please give some thought to taking on this role as well.
