….And help the new International African American Museum get off to a strong start.

The following is an email pitch the IAAM is currentrly making:

“With Veterans Day coming up this week, we’re remembering and honoring the many African Americans who have served our nation and continue to do so today.

Their stories and artifacts will play a central role in the International African American Museum, including recruitment materials for the United States Colored Troops (USCT), uniforms from the Buffalo Soldiers, and archival records that reflect the experiences of African Americans putting their lives on the line for a nation that refused to treat them as equals.

Veterans Day brings these stories to mind and the IAAM will bring them to life with the important artifacts that visitors will see in person next year. Our current Charter Members have helped us get this far, but we still need to raise $1.9 million to be ready to open our doors. We need people like you who are committed to highlighting the journey to help us finish the final phase of this work with an investment as our newest Charter Member – will you give a generous gift today?
