We are always gratified and thankful when our content on this website is appreciated. A great recent example is an email from Dennis Clark offering us a photo of a replica of a 1700s river ferry he handcrafted with the local Clements Ferry in mind.
Here’s an excerpt from Mr. Clark’s email and a photo of his handmade history….
“As a native Charlestonian, I especially enjoyed your piece on the ferries in the area. My wife grew up near the Clement’s ferry landing not far from the old Chicora high school she attended. Anyway, it just so happens I recently built a DIY 1:24 scale wooden model of a colonial era vessel. It represents a ferry approximately 10 feet wide and 50 feet long including the two pole drop ramps.. I have attached a picture of it for your purview.”
