It’s hard to beat a combination of a sunny January morning, fresh air, exercise and a dollop of Lowcountry history! That was the formula for our latest Members Only event and according to organizer Beth Bush it was a big success.

“We had an amazing member field trip this morning to the Sewee Shell Ring and Interpretive Trail in the Francis Marion National Forest (FMNF)! Special thanks to our spectacular tour guide (and DIHS member) Christy Stewart, who is a district archaeologist for the FMNF. Seeing the incredible Shell Ring in person and learning more about its 4000-year-old history was quite awe-inspiring!”

Members Only and Members Preference events are one of the ways we thank our membership for the support their dues provide to a wide range of DIHS activities in the community. For more details on past events…and how you can become a DIHS member CLICK HERE.
