Presents

Charleston – WHERE HISTORY LIVES

AN ADDRESS BY

Helen Hill helen-hillCEO, Charleston Area Convention and Visitors Bureau

Helen Hill, a Charleston native, is a graduate of Ashley Hall and Clemson University, where she earned her degree in tourism management. In 1989 she became CEO of the Charleston Visitors Bureau.

In her DIHS address, Hill will discuss the uniqueness and authenticity of Charleston that she believes goes far beyond its beautiful landscapes and lovingly preserved buildings.  Throughout her 27 years leading the CVB, Helen has worked to maintain the delicate balance of preserving the history that makes us special, while embracing and fostering today’s Charleston–a bustling epicenter of culture, activity, and hospitality that attracts close to four million visitors annually, and adds nearly $4 billion to the greater Charleston economy.

Helen Hill’s success in helping make the Charleston area a prime domestic and international destination has been astounding.  The Holy City has been ranked the No. 1 City in the United States and Canada for four consecutive years.  And, in 2016, readers of Travel + Leisure voted Charleston the No. 1 City in the World – the first U.S. destination ever to win this coveted award!

Please join the Daniel Island Historical Society on Tuesday, February 21 at 7 pm for an upbeat and stimulating address by Helen Hill.

All are welcome – Admission is free
