Cemetery Cleanup a Family Affair

For the men and women who participate in DIHS’ award winning cemetery cleanup and preservation project, it’s a labor of love. But for Dr. Harriet Hansen and her son Luke it’s a family affair as well.

Harriet and Luke joined a DIHS team on a recent trip to Daniel Island’s Grove Cemetery for some grounds keeping and cleaning headstones. Luke is a seventh grader at Daniel Island School and wanted to join the cemetery effort as part of his school’s community volunteer work requirement.
