Behind the Seams

April looks like another busy month for the Daniel island Historical Society!

Charleston has always prided itself on a certain style.  So it’s appropriate that we kick off April with a program titled “BEHIND THE SEAMS: Exploring Charleston’s Fashion History!”

Our speaker will be Virginia Theerman, Curator of Historic Textiles for the Charleston Museum.  According to her museum bio, Theerman cares for a collection of approximately 10,000 costume and textile objects.

Special bonus at the April meeting….cake and refreshments to celebrate the 378th birthday of DI namesake Robert Daniell.

History, fashion insights and birthday cake all in one sitting! Please join us.

Please note that our long time event location is now known as Church of the Holy Spirit Parish Hall…same location at the corner of Seven Farms and Daniel Drives. Semi interesting question: since it’s on a roundabout, is it accurate to refer to “the corner”? Anyway, please join us!
