The Cainhoy Collective is the oral history project the Daniel Island Historical Society has undertaken in partnership with the College of Charleston and the Keith School Museum.

At the Tuesday, April 19 DIHS meeting intern/researcher Riley Conover brought us up to date on all the progress she’s been making with the project.

One of the best things about Riley Conover’s presentation on her work for the Cainhoy Collective oral history project was that six of the eight people she’s interviewed thusfar came to our meeting Tuesday night. From Left to Right they are Riley Conover, Cain Simmons, Alice Washington, Dora Howard, Henry Carson, Fred Lincoln, MaeRe Chandler Skinner. Riley has also interviewed Mimi Howe and Joey Murray who were not able to attend Tuesday night.

Riley also shared the slide show she used to support her presentation.,,,and it’s definitely worth another look…. CLICK HERE
